Well…what a week it’s been! I hope you and your family and friends are safe and well.
I wake up every morning hoping that this situation is a bad dream, but sadly no…it is a reality. 2020 was a year that we were so looking forward to. It was going to be our busiest wedding season to date. This has now been ripped apart. I feel so sorry for the couples who were due to get married over the next few weeks and months. All that planning and eager anticipation of what promised to be one of the happiest days of their lives.
We need to stay positive! The most important thing is to look after our health and to make sure those most vulnerable are protected. To all of our couples…YOU WILL HAVE THE BEST DAY EVER, whenever that will be, and we will do our best to capture some amazing memories for you.
With no more weddings for the foreseeable future [ #sadface ] [ and I pray that the government announces measures to help us self-employed sole traders and small businesses financially in the coming days ] I thought I would start a personal project…
a) to keep my creative juices flowing and to keep my trigger finger active and
b) to document life as it is in my own home town / village (I’m still not sure what it is as there is a town council and a village hall) in these unprecedented times.
So today on Sunday 22nd March 2020 (Mother’s Day) I ventured out into Shifnal to document life as it is, two days after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced, during the press conference on Friday evening, that all cafes, pubs, bars, restaurants, and gyms were “to close tonight…and not to open tomorrow.”
With social distancing at the forefront of my mind, I took my camera out for a short while. I will add to this post as and when the situation allows. If the government announces a total lockdown and we will only be allowed to go out to buy food etc, then the photos will be very few and far between.
Stay safe everyone, and wash your hands! :)
